Under the name Sonic Art I freelance in sound design and audio post production, principally for film and television.

My work stems from my personal interest in sound, its discussion and exploration. Occasionally I work as a composer too.

When working in Australia I have access to Dolby approved mixing stages, as well as foley and ADR facilities. For large scale productions a sound team can be assembled and supervised to take your film's sound from concept right through to final mix.

Alternatively I can be hired to form part of your existing post sound team.

In addition to a critical pair of ears, I largely use Pro Tools, SSL-Soundscape and Kyma. I also have a fairly extensive sound library which is added to regularly.

Good sound requires planning. In some films sound is just an afterthought, and it becomes difficult to label it “design” (you wouldn't get an architect to design a house after it was built now, would you?) It is good to consider sound early on so that it may inform other areas of production.
